Dwyane Wade Pays $10.6 Million for Miami Home

The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade has bought a six-bedroom Miami Beach home for $10.65 million.

The 28-year-old NBA guard, whose free agency at the same time this summer as his current teammates LeBron James’s and Chris Bosh’s sparked ongoing speculation, now owns a gated, Mediterranean-style house on more than an acre with 150-plus feet of bay frontage. There’s a tennis court that he’s planning on converting to a basketball court, according to his broker Gloria Salom of Beachfront Realty, and a nearby spectator cabana with a wet bar. The property also has a one-bedroom guest house and a dog  house with air-conditioning. There’s more than 13,000 square feet of living space, according to public records.

Finding the home was “a project-and-a-half,” says Ms. Salom, adding that she and Mr. Wade looked at more than 50 coastal homes before she saw what is now Mr. Wade’s home, which was a pocket listing at the time.

Mr. Wade entered into contract on the home before he had even seen it, based on her description, she says, and is now “very happy. The land is secluded and it’s gorgeous. All you hear is the birds, the trees and the water.” It’s several blocks away from Mr. Bosh’s new home.

A representative for Mr. Wade did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Ralph Arias and Mirce  Curkoski of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller, Mel Harris, with Carlos Justo.
