 According to the OwnAmerica Survey just released, real estate remains a great long-term investment in the eyes of most respondents.

CEO Greg Rand of OwnAmerica.com states, “The most significant outcome of this survey is the overwhelming confidence in a long-term investment.”  He goes on to say, “The unique nature of this market today has created a perfect scenario for investors.  As a result there are hundreds of cities and towns across the U.S. that have great investing markets.”

In the survey investors cited Florida, California and Virginia as the states with the best investment potential; others mentioned were Colorado, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey and Arizona.

What this means, of course, is that despite alarm over the state of the real estate market these past few years, investors still believe in the overall health of the United States and that it will, indeed, make a comeback sooner rather than later.  The wise investor will get in now so that in five to ten years an investment will pay back nice dividends.

This report really points to a rather remarkable feature regarding the United States Economy.  If you were to poll investors in many of the industrialized nations of the world you would not find this kind of confidence.  Japan, Germany, England, France, the list goes on and on of depressed economies where confidence in that economy is at an all-time low.  However, in the United States, despite the effects of the latest recession, investors are confident in the resiliency of the nation’s economy and its ability to bounce back from tough times.
