NBA Free Agency Underway
If we were to choose the one month of the year when athlete relocation is most likely, it would be July.
July is the month when the trade deadline occurs in Major League Baseball, and July is the month of the NBA Free Agency. When the dust settles at the end of this month, dozens of professional athletes will relocate to new teams in new cities.
The NBA Free Agency is underway and if the rest of it goes like the first day, this will be one for the record books.
We should have known something special was going to happen when Luke Ridnour was traded four times in the span of six days. The case of Ridnour pointed to teams making room on their rosters for moves to be made later, and the first day of free agency verified that fact.
Draymond Green reached agreement with the Golden State Warriors on a five year deal worth $85 million.
Kevin Love announced he was staying in Cleveland despite many rumors to the contrary.
Iman Shumpert agreed to a contract with Cleveland worth $40 million.
Paul Pierce signed a three-year contract with the Clippers for $10.5 million.
And we’ve only just begun.
