NFL Season Never Ends

The NFL season never ends.  You can take that statement to the bank. Yes, the Super Bowl has ended, and we say congratulations to the New England Patriots, but that in no way means the NFL shuts down and takes a break.  To illustrate that point, take a look at a few of the important dates coming up in the NFL schedule.

February 6th . . . the Waiver System begins.

February 11th NFL Regional Combines begin

February 15th . . . 1st day to designation Franchise Players

February 18th . . . more NFL Regional Combines

February 28-March 6 . . . NFL Combine is held

March 9th . . . all teams must meet salary cap limits

March 9th . . . Free Agency begins

April 27-29 . . . NFL Draft held in Philadelphia in NFL draft order 2017.

The point to be made here is that the NFL season never does end.  From the time the teams take the last snap from center and enter the “off-season,” moves are made to re-shape each team for the upcoming 2017 season.  This is truly a never-ending process for all NFL teams, and it is a time of great uncertainty for players as athlete relocation becomes a very real possibility.

We mentioned earlier the NFL Draft in April.  Who are some of the college players to look at?  Of course, the NFL Combine will help to determine the First Round picks, but here are just a few who are almost certain to gather in first round compensation:

  • Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
  • Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
  • Jamal Adams, S, LSU
  • Jonathan Allen, DT, Alabama
  • Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
  • Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
  • Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
  • Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
  • Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
  • Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
  • Sydney Jones, CB, Washington
  • Avid Njoku, TE, Miami
  • Ryan Ramczyk, Ot, Wisconsin
  • DeShonre Kizer, QB, Notre Dame

Busy times ahead for the NFL and for college players hoping to make their lifelong dream come true.
