The 2015 NBA Draft: A Look to the Future

Without a doubt, NBA championships are won on the court, but it can be safely argued that the road to the championship begins with the NBA Draft.  The scouting takes hundreds of hours.  Reviewing film takes several more hundreds of hours.  Considering deals with other team officials, reviewing film, speaking to players, holding workouts, it all leads up to the big night when the future of a franchise can and most likely will be determined.

The first round of the 2015 NBA Draft has been held.  Team jerseys have been held in front of the cameras.  Smiles and handshakes with new professional athletes have been exchanged.  Now all that remains is signing a contract and heading to rookie camp.

The top ten picks in the 2015 NBA Draft were as follows:

  • Karl-Anthony Towns……Timberwolves

  • D’Angelo Russell……Lakers

  • Jahlil Okefor……76ers

  • Kristaps Porzingis……Knicks

  • Mario Hezonja……Magic

  • Willie Cauley-Stein……Kings

  • Emmanuel Mudiay……Nuggets

  • Stanley Johnson……Pistons

  • Frank Kaminsky……Hornets

  • Justise Winslow……Heat

Who are the winners so far?  Who struck gold?  Stay tuned!  The drama will play out once again in the fall when the new season begins and we find out who has what it takes to turn around the fortunes of a franchise.
