NFL Injuries Week Two

It wouldn’t be an NFL season without some significant NFL injuries, and Week Two provided quite a few more than general managers are comfortable with.  Among the most notable NFL injuries during Week Two of the season were these:

  • Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, New England Patriots, shoulder
  • Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings, torn meniscus.
  • Danny Woodhead, RB, San Diego Chargers, torn ACL
  • Josh McCown, QB, Cleveland Browns, shoulder
  • Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hamstring
  • DeMarcus Ware, OLB, Denver Broncos, broken forearm.
  • Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons, strained calf
  • Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks, leg contusion
  • David Amerson, CB, Oakland Raiders, concussion
  • Donte Moncrief, WR, Indianapolis Colts, concussion, shoulder
  • Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers, hamstring, ankle
  • Arian Foster, RB, Miami Dolphins, groin
  • Kelvin Beachum, LT, Jacksonville, concussion
  • Letroy Guion, DT, Green Bay Packers, sprained MCL
  • Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks, knee
  • Ezekiel Ansah, DE, Detroit Lions, ankle
  • Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks, sprained knee
  • Kyle Van Noy, LB, Lions, undisclosed injury

And that was just in one day!

It appears quite a few teams will be scrambling to fill needs as injuries mount and needs are met, either by trade, waiver wire or graduation from the practice squads.  This is, after all, the National Football League, and injuries are a way of life in this sport, as are player relocations.

Welcome to the NFL, where each week brings new personnel needs and roster shuffling.
